The Bee makes it!

The Photo Garden Bee bundles up or the Holidays
Britt may not drive 8 hours from Washington D.C. to Williamsburg in a blizzard but The Photo Garden Bee sure will. We left last night at 5pm to beat the storm and low and behold we… hit the storm. Eight hours of holding steady at 15 to 20mph as dozens around us ended up headed into ditches, spun about the road way and simply abandoning their cars.
We tried to pull off at one point but every exit along the way was blocked by a spun out car or tractor trailer. We were beginning to wonder how we would ever be able to get off. At 12:30 or so we called Erika for a weather forcast with the question, “Do we pass Richmond or head East to Williamsburg?” We were not convinced we could make it to Williamsburg. 15 mph seemed a bit too fast for I-64 and there was the ramp to contend with as well.
Erika told us to head East and East we headed, at 3mph over the ramp and then up to 10-15 for the next 1 1/2 to 2 hours to go 40 miles. But just as Erika predicted, just as we came into Williamsburg the snow changed to rain and all was fine.
At breakfast, our server mentioned a man came in at 6:am this morning having arrived from a 9 hour trip from Richmond, which of course would have been just an hour with regular conditions.
So Britt and Steve would never drive in wintery conditions, but yet again I’ve found The Photo Garden will apparently rise to any occassion. So here we are in the hotel. We are about to head out to go cover Colonial Williamsburg at the Holidays! The Decorations tour begins in a few hours and were doing this Bee!
Hope all of you are safe at home and enjoying some hot cocoa or something of the sort : ) Will post again later! It’s time to head out.
Britt : )
