Has Spring Sprung? Why Yes it Has!

The long Winter’s sky has opened up. Here in D.C. we may as well hit the sun jackpot this past weekend! People are so excited to see the sun that they are having lunch outdoors at the numerous restaurants that line my street. They are eating with jackets on, which might signal that it’s a little early for the Spring cafe life. As for me I wasn’t even feeling well this past weekend but I just had to get out. Saturday I grabbed my camera back and headed out to find the first signs of Spring.

Of course here, there is still residual snow on ground and ice to be melted! But low an behold just around the corner are the great greeters of the season: Crocuses, Snow drops and Butter cups! I’ll be darned… Spring has sprung!

As I traveled down the steps I found my first snow drop! There it was, just waiting.

The snow drops were not only out, they were happily trumpeting Spring!

A closer look had to be had!

The Crocuses were out everywhere! Some sprouted in little huddle groups..

Some formed little communities…

Others stood alone…

Just when I thought I’d seen them all I came upon this bank!

Here there were endless early arrivals to be had!… and to get up close and personal with!

One thing I do know is it wasn’t long before I found all the evidence I needed that the Daffodils are sure to follow soon!

Indeed Spring is here! Let the garden adventures begin! I can’t wait to hear from you all as to what grand outings your having! Let me know where you go and feel free to send pictures!
Next we meet I’ll sharing my visit to the National Botanical Garden! They too are in the throws of a great Orchid festival.
Have a fantabulous Spring!
‘Til Tomorrow…
Britt : )
