I’m ending this week of great holiday displays at garden destinations with one of the all time greats – Walt Disney World! Most may not know that WDW is one of my favorite garden destinations in the country and we will see just why early next week.
In the mean time were spending the last few days of this Christmas week on some the amazing holiday displays on view at Disney World. First up is the greatest light show I have ever seen! Yup: EVER.
This is one family’s holiday gone nuts! In the best way possible of course.
The back lot at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been restrung as the anual home of The Osborne ‘s family light show.
There are even lights strung up in the sky.
Entire blocks are aglow with millions (and I mean millions), of lights wrapping each building, doorway, nook and crany.
I shot this video in 2007. Please forgive the quality of this first Bee Video. 😀
I couldn’t believe how cool this was the first time I saw it in 2007. Rock versions of classics roared as the lights did their coreorgraphed dance. This is Christmas gone wild. I vowed to go back and when I got laid off this month we figured this would be one of the perks of the first ever Photo Garden Bee tour of winter gardens.
You probably can’t tell from the pictures, but during this 70° degree evening Disney World has the snow machines drifting little snow flakes lovingly over our heads. Reason #8,651, why I love this place.
These Angels were wonderful.
The train’s little puff of smoke was animated as it traveled across the display.
As we strolled about, the lights would dance to the different holiday tunes. One of my favorites was the Peanuts’ Christmas Time is Here…
Even the nut crackers were aglow.
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights runs through January 4, 2010 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If your anywhere within driving distance this is well worth the trip!
The Display comes with a regular Hollywood Studios park admission. Since it is Disney there is plenty else to do as well.

Tomorrow The Bee is going to tour the wonderful Christmas displays around Disney World this holiday season. Early next week were headed over the great Hydroponics Garden of Disney World at Epcot and part of The Land ride. And lastly we’re hunting for those wonderfully kept decorative flowers they have around the parks. I hope at least one will become a “Daily Flower“
‘Til Tomorrow and have a wonderful and happy holiday week,
Britt : )
